Arief Mohammad
Clinical Pharmacist | Pharmacist Coach | Co-Founder, Elite Expertise
About
Arief Mohammad is a clinical pharmacist, accredited consultant, and co-founder of one of the most trusted pharmacy registration coaching platforms in the world. With a career spanning academic research in Malaysia, regional hospital practice in Victoria, and now metropolitan clinical work in Melbourne, Arief brings a depth of experience that is rare in pharmacy education, someone who has lived the international pharmacist journey from start to finish, and built a platform so others could do it better. Born in Khammam, Telangana, India, Arief completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy at Kakatiya University and went on to pursue a Master of Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy at JNTU Hyderabad. That strong academic foundation set the direction for everything that followed, a career defined by clinical rigour, a researcher's mindset, and a genuine commitment to pharmacy practice at every level.
A Career Built Across Three Countries
Arief's professional journey began not in a pharmacy, but in a classroom. Around 2014, he moved to Malaysia and joined the academic faculty at two respected institutions, Asia Metropolitan University and UCSI University, where he taught pharmacy students and contributed to clinical research.
His research focus during this period covered drug utilisation reviews, pharmacotherapy in chronic diseases especially cardiovascular, medication safety and adverse drug reactions, evidence-based prescribing, and clinical audits in hospital settings. That combination of teaching and research gave him a perspective on pharmacy practice that goes well beyond the dispensary.
In 2017, Arief cleared the KAPS exam, the Knowledge Assessment of Pharmaceutical Sciences conducted by the Australian Pharmacy Council, and began his journey into Australian practice. He completed his internship in regional Victoria, fulfilled his AHPRA registration requirements, and started his community pharmacy career with Terry White before transitioning into hospital practice.
At Swan Hill District Health in regional Victoria, Arief built his clinical hospital pharmacy experience, serving a regional community where pharmacists carry significant responsibility across a wide scope of practice. That grounding in regional health shaped his understanding of what pharmacists in the field actually need to know and do.
Today, Arief works as a Clinical Pharmacist at Northern Health in Melbourne. His clinical work spans medication management, chronic disease management, and Home Medication Reviews (HMR).
He is an Accredited Consultant Pharmacist under the AACPA framework, the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy, and a certified Pharmacist Immuniser. He is also actively involved in advancing the scope of pharmacy practice and pharmacist prescribing in Australia.
Co-Founder — Elite Expertise
In May 2023, Arief co-founded Elite Expertise alongside his wife Harika Bheemavarapu, a practising clinical pharmacist and Accredited Consultant Pharmacist at Monash Health. What started as a coaching initiative for international pharmacists has grown into a global EdTech platform that has mentored over 10,000 pharmacy professionals worldwide, maintaining a consistent 95%+ pass rate across every batch.
Elite Expertise prepares pharmacists for:
-
OPRA: New Zealand & Australia
-
Australian Intern Pharmacist Written and Oral Exams
-
PEBC: Canada
-
PSI: Ireland
-
New Zealand Intern OSCE Preparation
-
DHA: UAE
The platform is built on what Arief has always believed, that exam success comes from clinical understanding, not rote learning. His coaching style focuses on developing genuine clinical expertise alongside exam-oriented preparation, because pharmacists who truly understand the practice don't just pass exams. They go on to build strong, lasting careers.
Arief serves as Director and Clinical Educator at Elite Expertise, leading KAPS, OPRA, and PEBC coaching with the same standards he applies every day in his clinical role at Northern Health.
Why He Built This
Arief cleared the KAPS exam himself. He went through the internship, the AHPRA registration process, the transition from one country to another, and the uncertainty that comes with every stage of that journey. He knows what it actually takes.
He built Elite Expertise because he saw too many capable, well-qualified pharmacists struggle, not because they lacked knowledge, but because they had no structured, clinically grounded guidance from someone who had been through the same pathway. His research background made him think about the problem differently: what does the evidence say about how pharmacists learn best, and how do you build a coaching model around that?
To date, he has helped over 10,000 pharmacy professionals register and practise in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, the UAE, and beyond.
